A Hiding Path and The Tall Tree

After a long brake we are back at it again, (for now at least). And yes we are in our pajamas in the videos, lol, just didn't want to dirty up our good clothes.

So here is a video of me (Joey) painting a secluded path, (or walkway), trough a deep forest, and a picture of the finished product. Hope you enjoy it, and sorry for the bad quality and angle of the camera; it was the best spot I could find.

And here is a quick video of me, (Stefan), painting my painting, "The Tall Tree". I only filmed a little bit in because I wanted to focus on painting it good, and not worrying about my camera, sorry. I'll maybe film more next time.

Just Before Sunset Finished

It took me a while to get motivated to add the lighthouse but I finally did it. I was pretty nervous because it was the first up-close lighthouse I've ever done, but I think it turned out great. At-least better than I was expecting. I also added a distant piece of land that stretches out into the water to give the right side more content.

And again, the picture quality isn't great, sorry.

Another Seascape... :]

Alright, this is an ocean scene I just painted on an 11X14 canvas a friend requested. I will add a lighthouse on the left side when it dries! I'm thinking about calling this one "Just Before Sunset", but don't hold me to it :]. (Sorry about the picture quality, it's a little blurry.)

Painted-Over

Remember this "Twi-lighthouse" painting?..
Well, we had sold it to a friend a while back, and recently wanted to repaint the lighthouse bigger and better with our newly discovered lighthouse painting skills. So they let us, and here is it before, and after. (The lighting, and camera quality is pretty awful, so it's not as wavy or dull in real life.)

Lighthouse just added.

Alright! That was fun.
The camera didn't quite capture the true colors well; the roof is more blue :].
And my angle was crooked when I took this picture, not the lighthouse.

Finally

I can happily say I did an ocean scene. Though later (once it dries some) I will paint a lighhouse to the right, and fix the bottom left corner with more rushing water.

--------------

Starting this I wasn't sure what colors I would use for the sky. I didn't want a hot feeling, cause it was hot enough downstairs anyway. So I went with cool blues and grays.

As I started painting on the black canvas I found that the dark color was seeping through my light blue sky. So I had to improvise and turn the dark areas into gray clouds and such.

So the final seascape ended up a strom at high tide, which I love.

About Something...

Just a little bit of info...

The Twin Cove Art logo is actually a crop out of a full painting I (Stefan) did a while ago. It is an 18X24 painting, oil on canvas.

(Before and After)

Ok, just thought I'd share something with ya, lol. Don't really know why I
said that.

Ok

Hey, nothing to say yet, sorry. Maybe in a little bit we will paint someting. It's just like I said before, we are just into other things right now. Plus we are doing things in our other blogs. (links on the sidebar on the right side of the page)

Heyllo Again :]

Hey! Here's a sorta old fastforwarded and muted video, that used to be on our website of me (Stefan) painting the "Old Stick Tree Road" painting. Enjoy.

(By the way, the pauses in the video are images, it's not freezing on ya, :])

Saying hey again.

Hey. We're really sorry that we haven't updated this blog in a while. we're just sorta doing other things right now. But hopefully soon we will do a painting or something. It just takes a while for us to feel up to it. But anyway, here's a muted video of us killing a spider on one of our easels to make up for it.

March 28, 2008

Just in case your wondering what's up we've just been taking a little break from painting for a while. We've been working on other blogs, the links to them are on the right side of the page, on that sidebar over there --->

The Attack Finished!

Alright, Were finally done with the attack. Here's the picture. :] This newly added cat is thinking twice about joining his group in the fight.

Painting a Cat

This is a short video of Joey painting a little bit of a Saber-tooth. Enjoy

News on The Attack

It turns out we have enough time to fix the things we wanted to fix on the attack scene. So it's not done just yet but it will be soon. Were gonna add a hill and cover up about half of the mammoths legs so they won't be so long, and add another Saber-tooth also!

The ATTACK!

Ok, here's the Mammoth and Saber-Tooth attack we talked about a few posts down.. We may fix a few things that bother us a little, or add some things, in the near future, if time allows.

I Messed Up :[

Now I'm going to have to wait till it dries, black gesso the bottom half, then repaint it, and add some palm trees up front. I'm looking forward to it though..

If you are wandering what i wrote on it, it says: IT SHOWS
It has been nearly a year since I have painted an ocean, by my self, and "It shows."

-Joey

Back in Time

A friend of ours has asked us to paint him 2 Pleistocene era paintings. One featuring a saber-tooth attack on a mammoth, the other, a ground sloth, to be put in his upcoming book.

Here's the Ground Sloth painting completed, and the landscape part of the other one, the animals will be added in a week or so.

Walking in the woods at night.

Tonight, after supper, we went outside to walk around with our dogs. And it was absolutely awesome. The air was nice and cold, and the stars were visible through the clear sky. The trees dark, bare limbs were beautiful against the night sky. We stayed out for a while until our hands were numbing :]. It was really inspiring. Maybe we'll paint something like it sometime.

"I'd never be able to paint like you."

We hear that all the time. What we like to say is "Yes you can, all it takes is time and practice." Everyone has an artist in them, all you have to do is let it out.

Joey's first attempt compared to a redone version [coming sometime]

Why we think art can help people...

Everybody has a creative side to them, and over time it builds up and you have to use it.. whether its doodling on paper while you talk on the phone, or writing a poem. Our point is that we think if you don't use your creative side it builds up. So any time you feel tight or something, pick up a pencil and draw or, write what your feeling. It will help clear yourself.

Thanks For Coming

And check back later.
